Once your maternity session is booked, the next question is almost always: “What should I wear?” The good news is that you don’t need to go shopping. Here’s everything you need to know about gowns, colours and outfits for you, your partner and your children.
Maternity gowns are provided
You don’t need to buy a special dress. I offer a collection of luxury maternity gowns in a variety of styles, colours and sizes, chosen to flatter your bump and help you look elegant and feel confident.
Before your session, we talk about the look you’d like and choose gowns together, so everything is ready on the day.

Can I wear my own outfit?
Absolutely. You’re very welcome to bring your own outfits as well, and I’ll guide you on what photographs best. Many mums like to mix one or two gowns with something personal, such as a favourite dress or a soft knit.
What usually photographs well:
- fitted styles that show the shape of your bump
- flowing fabrics that move beautifully in photos
- solid colours rather than busy patterns or large logos
- soft, natural fabrics such as chiffon, tulle, lace and knits
Light and airy, or dark and dramatic?
One of the easiest ways to plan your outfits is to decide on the overall mood:
- Light and airy: white, ivory, blush and pastel gowns on a bright backdrop. Soft, timeless and elegant.
- Dark and dramatic: black, chocolate brown, emerald or deep red gowns on a dark backdrop. Bold, rich and striking.
You don’t have to choose just one. Many sessions include both looks.
What should my husband wear?
Partners are welcome to join, and a few coordinated outfits make the photos look beautiful together:
- choose colours that complement your gown rather than match it exactly
- white or light shirts with denim or chinos work well with light gowns
- black or dark shirts look elegant with dark, dramatic gowns
- avoid busy patterns, big logos and bright neon colours
- make sure clothes are ironed and fit well

What should children wear?
Big brothers and sisters are welcome too, and photos of them with the bump are often family favourites.
- dress them in soft, plain colours that match the family palette
- bring a spare outfit in case of spills
- a little sign or prop (“Big Sister”, “Big Brother”) adds a sweet touch

What to bring on the day
- nude or seamless undergarments for easy gown changes
- comfortable shoes to wear between shots
- any of your own outfits you’d like to include
- a meaningful item, such as a scan photo, baby shoes or a name sign
- water and a snack to stay comfortable
Hair and makeup: professional makeup is available at an additional charge, if you’d like a polished, camera-ready look.
Where does the session take place?
Sessions can be done in the studio or at an outdoor location, depending on your preferred style and package, and home service is also available in Doha. Most maternity sessions take around 1 to 2 hours, depending on outfit changes, and your edited gallery is delivered within two weeks.
